weird spark problem, help please!!

i am helping a friend with a '90 celica with 5s-fe naturally aspirated. he swapped heads and now it won't fire. i've checked lots out against the factory manual and found nothing obvious. everytime you crank the engine the coil fires exactly 4 times regardless of how long you continue to crank it. any and all help appreciated.
thanks, steve

I had asked the owner if he disconnected any grounds. The test procedure in the manual sorta pointed that way. Now I have an idea where to start looking. Thanks bunches!! Steve

^He has to remove grounds to swap the head. Probably its the one on intake manifold. It mount with a screw on one runner. Its hard to get to cause it close to fire wall. Also there is one from tranny to the block.
