Dash lights
My dash lights were working fine on the road. I stopped and turned off the lights, and when i turned the car on again, i turned the head lights on but the dash lights weren't working so i just drove without it for a while. I left the car for a few hours and when i turned it on again the dash lights were working fine. Any ideas of what mightve happened or anyone experience something like it?

Simple, "gently hit" your dash, if the lights turn on, that means the lights start to die. You must replace the little bulb. This thing happen on most car. Sometime, after you hit the dash the lights work for many months (due to small contact between bulb and board circuit).

Dash lights
I recently had the same problem, turned out to be the dimmer module on my 90 GT. The circuit board on the dimmer had burnt open on one of the circuit paths I soldered a piece of wire into the board to restore the open circuit and it worked. After what the dealership wanted to charge me for the relay module for the sunroof ($360) I opted to take a chance and fix this one myself! I pulled the instrument cluster before I found the real problem, it's a pain and you have to drop the steering column to get the surround on the cluster out without breaking it, not to mention disconnecting the heater control cable from the valve so you can get the heater control out. Don't forget to disarm the airbag!

well the dimmer module was a problem with the celicas (i know for sure that the 1990 had this problem). Some cars were called back by Toyota to get fixed.......mine was one of em!........still have the documents from the previous owner.
