Ignition on 5SFE
I've seen others talk about upgrading their ignition, hotter coil, wires, etc.
Thing is, the 5SFE has the small in-cap coil. How do you go about changing over to an external coil? And is the Nology Ignition Amplifier any good? Thanks! Mike. |

You can modify the cap to use extarnal coil. You'll need to drill a hole on the cap and screw on a terminal to connect to external coil.
Unless you FI the engine or using high compression piston there is no point in upgrading ignition. Best you'll get is smoother idle. |

Can you please tell me how you did that? I REALLY need to have an external coil, but don't know how to modify it. Is there a DIY anywhere, or some directions and parts list??
