Re: what to do??
well you can get a intake, or cat back exhaust for 300. also have to ask you what are your plans for the car. or what would you like to do to your car later down the road. turbo possibly?.

Re: what to do??
any motor can handle a turbo. it all depends on how you build it. if you want the motor of a gt4(3sgte) they usualy run anywhere from 1000 to 1500, as for the 5sfe you can turbo it. theres two diffrent methods. you can do a 5sfte. or 5sgte like i am doing. all depends on you and how much time/money you are willing to spend.
5sfte = 5sfe with a turbo 5sgte = 5sfe + 3sgte head + turbo if you want to throw in a 3sgte, i wouldnt bother modding the 5sfe, cause you would be wasting your money. btw i have a 91 gt also

Re: what to do??
but if i remember correct the headers of a 5sfe and a 3sgte are the same. if so i would get some headers and exhaust. that way if you do end up with a 3sgte you can just swap that over. but im not to sure so "subspec" correct me if im wrong.

Re: what to do??
headers yes. they both match, but turbo headers and naturally aspirated headers are completely different,

Re: what to do??
if he wants more power now. what i would do is get a cat back, that way he can use it on a 3sgte,5sfte,5sgte

depends on where you get your parts. id say anywhere from 1500-3000.
you would need turbo turbo manifold wastegate, wideband 02 sensor bigger injectors boost controler (manual boost controlers are cheaper) turbo down pipe just to name afew heres a build of a 5sfte (turbo 5sfe) going on currently. Sneak Peak - Turbo setup thus far and heres mine 5sgte 5SGTE build as for your cat back, personaly i would pick up a muffler goto a shop that can weld and have them weld in a 2.5-3in piping. as for exhaust, pacesetter makes a cat back for our cars, and i belive hks makes one for the alltrac that would fit. check out nopi.com and HKS Hi-Power Exhaust for TOYOTA Celica All Trac 1990-1993 Turbo [HKS-31019-AT009 EDO Performance

Re: what to do??
for you now i would go with a oem clutch. or possibly a stage one. would you be doing the clutch yourself or paying someone to do it for you?

Re: what to do??
lol not a bad deal ive done that for one of my buddies. one thing to do when doing a clutch yourself. take the flywheel to a machinist shop to have it resurfaced.

Re: what to do??
if you got cams redone(web cam regrinds) and got stronger valve springs. you could raise the redline. but usualy at higher RPM the 5sfe falls on its face.
gotta realise to that the 5sfe was designed as a daily driver motor and have alittle zip in town. its not really ment to be a high performance motor
