Which starter?

OK, I know you guys are probably familiar with my project so here is my next question.

What starter do i use for my setup?

The starter for an auto 3sge (which is the motor i'll be running) OR, a starter for an auto 5sfe (which is the tranny i will be running)

They are two different part numbers. I erally hope this 5s tranny will work...

Re: Which starter?

I'm guessing I need to use the starter designed for the tranny/bellhousing I'm using (5sfe auto tranny)

Re: Which starter?

If I'm not mistaken they do have a different number of teeth. I plan to try and run all 5s tranny components (drive plate, tq converter, starter ect). Besides I think the starter is on the drivers side of the tranny on 5s trannies and the pass side on 3s trannies.

Re: Which starter?

Yeah. Your going to have to use a 3s flywheel. Can't use the one off a 5s

Re: Which starter?

I know the bolts are bigger. So I imagine a 5s will be loose and floppy alittle. I bought a set of arp flywheel bolts thinking they would be the same considering both are 8 but aparently there bigger.
