Though i would take a few to say hello....been looing for a good celica forum . hope i found i here.
just to set things straight i dont own a celica but my step daughter owns two right now. she owns 90gt 5 speed and a 92gt auto... the 90 we have done afull body job on ...both outer and inor rockers alog with floor pans both rear quarters and wheel wheels...engine rebuild and many extra items. interior items painted and back glow gauge package. all brakes and fuel lines and tie rod ends and complte brake job also all fluids chaged. now for the the 92gt..look at the 90...lol paited many more interior items on this one though, also had to replace the speakers and deck. were on the look out for the vented hood for this car. As for myself i'am a bmw guy who owns a E36 (325i) and my baby the E31 (850i) 6 speed. lookng forward to chating and finding all the craz things that go wrong and the diy's to keep her cars going. I'll let her do the picture thing when she join's your forum...info forwarded to her. |

Thanks for the welcome..I think the 5th Gen is the best looking one made...daughter fell in love with it on first sight. love watching her get her hands right into the jobs at hand...look forward to chating over these cars...

well the 92 looks like the oil pump is leaking....whats your thoughts on changing the two seals ?
can i get the outer seal out with out droping everything? our am i better off pulling it all off? you can email me if you wish? sightseeker2@gmail.com this will get her hands dirty now...lol |

Well it all depends on where its leaking from. id replace both seals. Or just get a new pump. My toga hv pump was like 150

You don't have to drop your motor for a oil pump. Or water pump. It just maybe difficult for most people to do.

So heres the up date on the 92 oil leak...pulled the covers of and all the belts and balancer. found a new water pump , timing belt and idlers and yes a new oil pump and seals. guess were the p/o cheaped out or thought the old one looked ok.....yep you gussed it the o ring was in little pieces when i pulled the oil pump..new o ring and back together ...no more oil leak.
