Erection Problem

I noticed lately that as my headlights go erect or down to the hideaway positon, that my driver's side headlight moves rather labourously and makes a slight noise. Has anyone else had this problem? Is anyone able to direct me to a resource that might assist me in torubleshooting the problem and possibly fixing it? Do I need some lube - or what?

Re: Erection Problem

Havnt had this problem. I've had it get stuck on the hood. But try lubing the headlight actuator and check the headlight assembly to see if its loose at all

Yeah, sure, Locker; but I was hoping to fix it in advance of having to go to the scrapyard to get a replacement.

John in many ways I just find it easier to simply replace fucked up parts with ones that work.
Here's my logic... Time. If I fix something like that by re-greasing stuff or what ever then yeah it'll work for a while but more than likely its still dying and I'll be constantly wondering how long my "fix" will last. I go to the junk yard take one off that looks all purty and stuff put it on and don't think about it again. Plus I just like going to the junk yard.... you never know what you'll find.

So then, when I repalce the headlight motor, is there information on the net, do you know, that shows how to go about disassembling it?

Re: Erection Problem

its always better to fix then prolong the enevitable. but if its something simple and you already got what you need to fix it. then hell try it. the actuator is actualy under the headlight assembly. just look for rods and linkages.
