Re: 5SGTE build
I love the way you think. I have a 91 celi with the 5sfe. I am wanting to rebuild the engine to a 5sgte its nice to see it being done and to know i'm not that crazy. everyone says to just drop in the 3sgte but where is the fun in that.

Re: 5SGTE build
i don't get why people race Neons. I drove one once and it was probably the slowest car i've ever driven plus i broke the e brake on the first power slide in a parking lot.

Re: 5SGTE build
Ok. So I got the motivation to work on the celica today. I decided to finish up removing the sound deadening. On the floor boards. And man its a pain in the ass. Lol sitting there with a heat gun and a scraper.

Re: 5SGTE build
got alittle work today. removed a good portion of the sound deadening. now trying to clean it up. temp installed the head and intake manifold to give you a idea of what my motor will look like lol.
![]() ![]() now heres the pics of the floor board. they were covered in about 1/4 inch of sound deadening tar material. this shit is a bitch to get up i probably removed a good 50 to 60 lbs of this shit ![]() floor board done in this pic. its behind the drivers seat. ![]() drivers side floor board. not near done. ![]() behind passenger side. ![]() just to show you what i did today lol. best way i found to get rid of this shit is to use a heat gun and a paint scraper. then once most of its off. use a rag to kinda wipe up the rest. problem is you gotta keep heat on it or it hardens quick. passenger side front
