battery gauge goes up and down?
My battery gauge goes up when I am driving (higher RPM) and goes down when idling (LOW RPM). Is this normal?
I have tightened the alternator belt as much as I can.

Re: battery gauge goes up and down?
Well, to be true, i have seen this only when i.e. i'm in front of a trafficlight and i want to go left or right and my directionlight go on and off.
It can ofcourse be, because during higher RPM the motor of your car makes the alternator belt run quicker, which means, more power produced. What do the other guys think about my explanation? ;-) |

Re: battery gauge goes up and down?
I know what it is it happened to me. it's called a voltage regulator it's inside the alternator but you can't just replace that you have to replace the whole thing and if you do that and it is still doing then there is a bigger electrical problem and you will have to go through the entire system. i had to do that i ended up replacing the alternator, battery, cables and part of the harness
