So i have an issue with my Idle!

So i have an issue with my Idle!

it's pretty bad, and i am really lost at this point...

-I changed the O2 Sensor
-I Cleaned the throttle body VERY WELL
-checked the ignition wires
-changed the filter on the intake manifol

the cold start idle sits good at 2000 rpm but as she warms up she starts going up and down between 900 and 2200

I think the last time you posted this someone talked about an Idle speed motor? I know that is what it's called in my Dodge truck. There should be a sensor or something similar on the Toyota. I think they're called Idle speed control valves.

yeah that's part of the throttle body that i cleaned out like crazy... i used an intire can of carb cleaner and sprayed into every hose and crevase of the throttle body.

I can say that i dont think that it's that anymore...

I have heard that the EGR valve and Charcole can can effect idle but i am not sure how they would.

i have though that maybe the engines timing was off or somthing is causing the serging up to the higher rpm.... possibly ecu or somthing. I am not sure yet

maybe you have to replace your ISC sensor.

what i would do, is i would find a 5SFE owner with a verified working sensor, and swap it. at least that way you can eliminate one possibility.

I'll go with this one!!

I think the EGR valve has nothing to do with the idle speed ;)

P.s piney should know

I got a few ICVs at home. Don't think its EGR. Vaccum leak somewhere? Start the engine, spray throttle body cleaner around and below intake manifold. It'll stall when you spray close to a leak. When the engine is bouncing up and down, unplug to ICV and see if it help. It should stall. Reset ECU?

ICV are hard to remove. Take the whole TB out and use right size screw driver.

Try unplug test to see if its dead or not. I'll see if I have a complete TB you can try. Oh you can swap the TB sensor with Tyrones'.

ok so i swapped the TB's and still nothing....

so i started to try blocking hoses... when i block off the little hole in the throttle body before the throttle (the little triangle one) and the lower air hose she idles perfectly... both of those are sucking hard and when blocked the car runs perfectly.

Yea, when I finished the swap, car will start sometime and may die after a few minute. Turn out to be a lose ground wire that I forgotten to tight.

OK sooooo i need some imput from ALL 5th genners that know their shit!!!

I have now
switched the throttle body,
checked the charcole canister,
checked every hose,
Checked the ICV,
Swapped the EGR,
Cleaned all filters,
Checked all connections....

while the engine is still cold it will idle at 2100 rpm (too high i know) and then once it warms up she goes back to her up and down cycle... turning on the AC, Rear Defrost and wipers will bring down the rpm and some times stablize it at 1700 or so.

It seems to be one of three things left...

A) vacuume sensor (electric)
B) vacuume Leak (physical issue with seals maybe)
C) VSV messed up (hope this isn't the issue cause it's hard to get to)

the other issue i have been having is the power steering leak so i am wondering if they might be related as i knwo that the power steering is attached to the air hoses in some way...
