1991 gt lift back rear mod question

hey guys i just joined the other day and i was wondering you know how between the two tail lights on the 91 gt liftback there is the red piece that says "Celica" on it i was wondering if its possible to remove that piece and if so how would i go about doing that?, im thinking of removing it to sand down the celica logo and paint it to match the rest of my car. i look forward to your replies thanks.

Its actually really easy to remove that part. start by removing the tail lights. If I remember correctly (its been a few years)
Tail lights removal.
pop off the corners and take out the screw.
there are a few tabs at the top of the tail lights you need to pop out and remove a screw or bolt.
remove the cover at the back and there are a few bolts to remove

from there you should be able to see all the hardware holding on the center piece

nice thanks for the advice, now when you say" pop off the corners" to take off the tailights do u mean open the trunk n pop off the corner panels inside or just pry the tail lights off? sorry if i sound like a noob this is my first car. and wht kind of paint should i use on that center piece? would it be ok to just use paint i would use on my car or should i usea special kid of paint?

by popping off the corner I mean on the outside use a screw driver and pop off the the corner light. the one that is no longer on the back more on the rear quarter... as for paint I have no idea....
