proud owner of 1991 celli with some questions
Hey everyone! Im the proud owner of a 1991 Toyota Cellica with about 137k miles on it. First things first, it looks like its in pretty good condition, little rust, think there may be a small oil leak, and the radio has a blown fuse. Other than those things, is there any maintence work i need to get done, (besides fluids, and some freeon). Also the clutch is alittle strange commming out its very smooth until the end where it snaps back more quickly, something that no other car ive driven has ever done,, is this normal or is there something wrong? thanks in advance =]

Re: proud owner of 1991 celli with some questions
My celica, a 1993, the clutch started doing the same thing. U can check the clutch fluid cause on the celicas they're hydraulic clutches, of maybe its just something in the pedal under the dahs board. But from what it sounds like it doesnt seem like anything too bad. just more of an announance. Make sure to check the belts and the timing belt. With that many miles it cant hurt to change it. Other than that U have a great car to start with. One of my celicas has 254K miles and is still running strong. So keep up on the maintenance and u should have a great car for many years to come.

Clutch might have air in it, try bleeding it out. Change all the fluids in the car if you just bought, give it a wash and enjoy. :D

Oh it was like 750 because i had him spot weld an oil leak, smog it, change all the fluids, recharge the freeon, on top of getting a new clutch.

Re: proud owner of 1991 celli with some questions
may want to keep an eye on your power steering hose and your rad. Both these parts are common wear items on 5th gens. Also with 137 miles on it, you may want to change the timing chain, and give her a good tune up. Other than that, it should be smooth sailing.
