Convert to all-track
I was wondering how hard it would be to convert a 4th gen celi gt/gt-s to an all-track. I'm mostly wondering if the unibody construction is different.
Any and all input is greatly appreciated. -William |

u can swap engine but the awd is apparently not gonna happen. At that age I suggest u just buy an alltrac

OK so what is the reason that the awd system can't be implemented? Is the under-carriage different(does it need a large recessed area for the drive shaft?)?.

that is what I hear...I have not done this myself nor have I attempted but I believe the labour will cost you more on converting to awd than just buying the awd turbo all trac

Yeah I figured it would be more hassle than I would like. I am surprised that no one has mentioned that I wrote all-track instead of alltrac. Only reason I brought this up is that it is hard to find a an alltrac in decent shape for a decent price.... well at least around where I live.

Well I have just found out that it isn't that hard to convert to an alltrac, all you have to do is notch and recess the floor pan, cut a small portion of the firewall out to fit the transfer case, and modify he hatch floor to mount the rear differential. So I might attempt this conversion after all, Because it has been done before.

yeah, 4th gens wouldn't be as bad as 5th or newer to convert...
I'm talking outta my ass again, I don't really know.Ask me if you should convert a 1st gen to AWD. Then I will tell you no. It is already RWD and the AWD isn't worth the extra weight.

I'm confuzed by your reply klue...either that or you quoted the wrong person.
did you read that I wrote "I'm talking outta my ass again, I don't really know"... but you are correct, I don't have an alltrac...and it is pretty obvious (see sig)...so yes, I obviously don't have an alltrac :D
