Engine transplant st165 to st205

Hi im the proud owner of a 86 celica gt4 or alltrac which ever suits ya, was considering doing a transplant of my st165 engine to the 7th gen st205 engine is this an easy task? how much would the engine cost and would it bolt straight i or would i need some mods? if this is possible how much could i get for my st165 engine and would anyone be interested in buying it if this plane goes to head? Thanks!

I believe you guys in australia had the st205 so it wont be as expensive as doing it here in Canada. Just make sure you get the wiring harness and ecu and it shouldn't be that difficult. Everything will bolt in fine

just FYI, ST205 is the 6th gen Alltrac. If you do go ahead with the plan, you'll have a rocket. 260hp out of the lightest of the alltrac chasis.

Be sure to post pics.

All-trac was a North America-only identification. The rest of the world knew 3SGTE-equipped Celicas as GT4s

your better off getting a 2nd gen it will cost less 70% of the 3rd gen parts can be swapped on. But your biggest issue will be wiring up a 3rd gen to work in your 1st gen.

Chris D. has a site where it details how he swapped a 2nd gen 3sgte into his 1st gen gt4/alltrac http://www.gtfour.ca/howtoswap.html, plenty of power upgrades available, as well as a whole lot more parts available to you.
