NO POWER TO IGNITION! '86 celica

well i was drivin one day and all of a sudden everything jsut shutdown, so i pulled over and try to start my car nothin. put the key in and no crank, no sound. so i hot-wired the car and the car was fine, i tapped some wired into the ignition, so im guessin no power to ignition, my relay is clickin, should it be doin that, dunno, kinda stumped, if any one has ANY info that would be peachy. i think it may be the fuse box inside the engine bay. can those fuse boxes go out??? some of the wires plug into it doesnt have power goin through it, and i try tappin those wires directly to the battery and the wires work.

The same thing happens to my celica st162. I have to roll start it about once a week.

have you checked the ignition barrel switch? might be a loose wire or bad connection ? could also be the starter relay - if youve fitted a starter motor recently check the earth hasnt detached itself, or the solenoid connecting wire

im assuming you get all the ignition lights on too, turn then nothing, use a piece of wood (thin enough to reach the starter motor), and hit the wood with a hammer - it might be the starter motor sticking... best of luck

yea it might be a flat spot on your starter.. try the wood and hammer trick and see..
