2se/3sge
does anyone if a 2se(SOC) block will work with a 3sge (DOHC) head; or if a 3sge ecu will run a 2se motor. i have an 86 gt with a good 2se motor and an 87 gts with a bad 3sge motor(bought for $150), not sure what is wrong with the 3sge. any help will be nice as i am a "home schooled" mechanic. or if anyone has any ideas as to what i could do for my situation.

Re: 2se/3sge
well I just did some reading so the 2se is a single overhead cam version of the S series motor.
Technically the 3sge head could be bolted onto the 2se block as they are both 2L motors just not sure about the oil passages. Best thing to do is have both motors sitting beside one an other to see how similar things are. Sometimes you just gotta make shit work! Good luck man!
