What to do with an 89?
Ok, so after about 4.5 years I've decided that I need something newer, maybe something bigger as well. It's not so cool pulling up to the clubs in a 15 year old celi...
So the big question with a car like this is: Sell it, or Part out? I mean, I can probably get more $$$ parting it out, but it's more work and I'll have to deal with getting the car to a scrap yard after. As-Is, it'll need a few things - if anyone's interested I'll go through what's been done recently and what I think needs to be done. I'd rather sell it whole, but I'll consider all my options. Quickly: 89 GT, Red, 26x,000 km's, 5sp. The headlight motors are perfect (I know that sounds like a weird thing to say, but I just replaced one, and if anyone has had to do that before, you probably know how hard it is to find them - and at a reasonable cost) It might be a really good project car for someone. It runs really well now, but it does have "character". So what's the better choice, keeping it together, or parting out (which is now easier with ebay)? What is it worth whole? Does anyone have any interest?

If it runs good and don't have lots of rust, body kit, new paint, rims and it'll look like new.
It worth about $2-4G. Check AutoTrader.ca Scarp yard is easy, call StandardAuto Wreckers and they'll come and tow if for free or even give you $40. |

the body is in good condition. A little rust around the edge of the sunroof, and just a little around the top edges of the rear wheel wells. There's one or two small spots behind the rear wheels, below the bumper that could use some filler. In my personal opinion it still looks better than most 4th gens I've seen on the roads.
But I definitely dont want to be the one putting the new kit and paint on - I don't have the time for it... maybe in teh summer, but I'm sure someone else would probably be able to. I've taken care of it as best as I can... oil changes every 5g's, checking all fluids and topping everything when I know I'll be on the road for more than an hour. My mechanic is a good friend, so I pretty much oversaw every nut & bolt that went in or came out since I've had the car. I could only find 1 4th gen on trader.ca...
