Speedometer isnt working

only the rev counter is working....but not the speedometer....when driving....i undid the cable from the transmission and put it back in the slot properly but still nothing....wat could be the problem? New cable?

yeah i had the same problem..twice. try a new cable first. be careful not to break either end of the cable. One is metal going to the transmission and the other is plastic going into the back of the gauge cluster. If that doesnt work then try another gauge cluster. It is most likely one of those two causing your problem. lemme know if you need more help on it.

would the cable from a manual transmission work on a auto trasmission?......i have 2 extras celica's here but they are both manual

I dont see why it woulnt work. I believe they are the same. i am trying to recall what kind of transmission was on the car that I pulled the cable from. I think, one was manula and the other was automatic. The cables should be the same cable with the white and green end on on side.

i could most likely find a good cable for you but it will cost you a lil bit.
