Re: tips and tricks
from: Toyota: Deciphering Engine Applications 2SE, 3SFE, 3SGE, 3SGTE, and 5SFE, Dan Minick, Automotive Rebuilder, April 2000
The 2SE The 2SE belongs to the "S"-series engine family. The 2 signifies the second revision of that group of motors. The "E" stands for fuel injected. The 2SE was first used in the U.S. with the introduction of the front wheel drive Camry. This was a single overhead cam 2.0L motor with bucket tappets with "hockey puck" adjusting discs. Bore and stroke were 84mm (3.307") x 90 mm (3.540"). In 1986 the Celica moved to a front wheel drive platform and it also used the 2SE motor in ’86 in the ST and GT models.

Re: tips and tricks
you can make power with any eninge. the princepals are the same no matter. get more air and fuel in, make it burn as completly and get it out.
so depending on how much u wanna spend. -porting/polishing - deck the heat to bring up the Compression ratio -intake/ exhaust work - upgrade the ignition - NOS -turbo - cams the list is endless |

Re: tips and tricks
theres no support for that motor.. Plus, its funky looking with the exhaust and intake in the back. Very easy to replace alt/starter/dizzy, easy to work on overall.
Theres nothing to do with it, it will always be gutless. Bulletproof though!
