As long as your car doesn't leak or burn oil, then any synthetic oil would work fine in your engine. However, I'm not a big fan of the 5w50 Syntec, a little too much viscosity spread for my liking, and it's not a 'true' synthetic. If I were you, I'd try to find the 0w30 Syntec, otherwise known as German Castrol. Don't be put off by the 0w part, this oil is one of the best oils you can buy, and is actually a fairly thick 30 weight, approaching the viscosity of a 40 when hot. If you do find the 0w30 Syntec, turn the bottle around and check for the words "Made in Germany" that's the callsign of the German Castrol oil. Do a quick check at www.bobistheoilguy.com and look at all the positive opinions of this oil if you're not convinced. I'm using this oil in my 88 GT right now.
