I dont know what to tell you about the coil, but as far as heat, check around to see how much it costs to have your coolant system flushed. you might have a blockage where the heater coil is(cant remember it thats the name for it right now havin a brain fart) but it is where you get the "heat" from that blows into the cab from the cabin blower motor. if you do have a block there, that will also create your overheating problems.
