Blown Tranny
Hey people, im from thunder bay, i bought a 2000 celica from toronto not even 3 weeks ago.
i drove the car home, and everything was fine, the car ran good, and the shop told me that it was saftied and all cars come with a mandatory warranty.
So i get home, and the thing is like, self destructing, i mean its not bad but from a car that is only 3 weeks old, i expected a little better.
My dad checked the tranny fluid when i got home and it was BLACK. so we took it to the toyota dealership and they said to take it to the only transmission place in town to get it flushed.
So i did that and the guy had terrible news. There are blown gears in the tranny. There are two big metal balls sitting in the tranny and the guy thought that someone had the car in drive and then threw it in reverse. And just messed the car. He also saw that the car has been worked on, very poorly. He thought the car had been in an accident and when I bought the car, the dealer guy insured me the car was driven nice and has been in no accidents.
So I call the dealership, (weston motors) in toronto and the guy is giving me some shit that you need to buy a warranty, when the guy who sold me the car told me every car came with a warranty to be able to sell the car. And the guy basically said that I need to talk to his brother who is out of town till Monday. P
Any ideas on what I should do or could do?
A new transmission is about 4G, to me thats not worth it. The car is 8 years old, it has 200,000KM on it, and i only paid 8000 with taxes on the car. So really 4,000 is half of what I paid for the thing.
