Re: ST215 Caldina Swap
F**KIN A!
My dad pussied out at the last minute. Somehow, over the weekend while I was away, my mom managed to get my dad totally convinced that it's better/cheaper to fix up my p.o.s. '90 GT-S that they've totally ruined since they keep driving it around while it's got a broken rod....thanks to that, it needs a new intake, too...
The ONLY reason I was keeping that damn car was to part it out or use it to swap the interior into the AllTrac. (the interior is still in excellent condition, minus the lack of a stereo)
$1100 for a new 5S-FE (that's just the flat cost)
$1XXX for a new clutch
$1300 for a new transmission and installation
$271 for new power-steering lines, which is utterly ridiculous
God only knows how much to redo all the electrical and wiring harness
All of that takes time and money, and it means I'll be without a vehicle until it's done. Instead of just getting a rock-solid 1990 AllTrac with the 2002 Caldina engine for $9,600 (189/mo. payments with financing), now I have to drop a $9000 bomb.
spoolin_gt: Yes, there's traffic all day--it's California, lol, there's traffic all night too. And yes, it was going to be my daily-driver.
Ponefish: zip...but the guy's name is JJ, and it's still up for $9,600 if anybody's able to make it out to the greater Los Angeles area.
