expanding my knowledge.

so i've really been into cars for about 3 years, i've always wondered how they work enginewise. I know a lot more than a good percentage of kids my age, but it's not enough. im always wanting to learn how stuff works, how to install parts, what they do, ect.

im fortunate enough to have a place to go where i can see cars, parts, accesories, ect at my disposel, i just want to know how they work. so my question is, are there any books out there that i can read to help me expand my knowledge. i've already spent hours on howstuffworks.com and i figure thats most likely the best online site. so i'm really just looking for something to read. Any stories of how you've learned what you know would be nice as well :-)..
