Man, consider yourself fortunate it's not a lot worse! I see this kind of thing quite a bit where I live, and it normally really wipes out the front end. I believe the low-angular profile did a lot to deflect the mass of impact. It's not unusual to see repair bills well over $8,000 on late model cars that engage Rudolph's imbred cousins. Hope your insurance company treats you fair.
